The
Holidays are definitely the most festive occasion of the year. It is
during Christmas time that families are gathered together and celebrate
the joy and cheer of this merry season. But this is also the time when
dieting is a big challenge because of the bountiful food preparations
that we all can’t get ourselves out of. And after the merriment of the
festive Christmas season, we are then faced with another challenge of
scraping out the excess weight we have gathered during the Holiday’s
eating galore.
Statistics have shown that
losing weight is on top of everyone's New Year’s resolutions. But, fact
is, it is never an easy task. Many have struggled trying to loose the
extra pounds they have.
But don’t fret
because there are plenty ways to loose weight the healthiest way
possible. Just follow these five amazing tips to shape up for the New
Year and in any occasion of the year.
Tip #1 Eat Five Small Meals a Day
Instead
of eating three full meals a day, try taking in five small meals with
300 calories each. Doing this makes you feel full much longer, you
would forget taking in snacks. Taking in five small meals a day will
also make your metabolism working more consistently and helps avoid
suffering from sugar drops. But you must also make sure that you’re
taking in 40% carbohydrates, 30% proteins, and 30% of fats that makes
up a balanced diet.
Tip #2 Combine Your Workout Exercises
When
you are doing some exercises to loose weight, you must ensure that all
the parts of your body are getting its respective exercises. For
instance, you may mix in exercises for body strength to your regular
workout exercises. You will not only burn calories but you will also
develop some muscles.
You may try the following suggested workout exercise that has been proven very effective.
a. Strength training – 45 minutes, 3 times a week
b. Cardio – 30 minutes, 2 times a week OR
- aerobics – 30 minutes, 2 times a week
(Alternate doing the cardio and aerobics for every two weeks)
Tip #3 Increase Fluid Intake
70%
of our body is composed of water so it is very important that you
maintain sustenance of 6 to 8 glasses of water every day so your body
is kept hydrated and you can be sure that is functioning well. Make
sure, though, that you do not drink too much as this causes water
retention that actually leads to water weight.
However,
bear in mind, that when you add in other forms of fluids such as
coffee, tea, and juices, you are adding calories too as these liquids
contain added calories. So you might want to lessen your intake of
these so you can keep track of your diet.
Tip #4 Listen to your tummy
This
means eat only when you are sure that you’re really hungry. This is
actually not as easy as it seems. Sometimes, we often make a mistake of
thinking that we are hungrey when we are actually just thirsty. This is
one of the reasons people tend to overeat. But to avoid this, next time
you get some hunger pangs, drink half a glass of water and wait for 15
minutes. If you still feel hungry after 15 minutes, munch on a cracker
or a small slice of fruit. You could do this or you could continue
drinking water until your next meal time.
Tip #5 Cut Down Your Meal Half
Cutting
down half of your meal may be easier to do when you are at home since
you are in complete control of your meal preparations. However, every
now and then, we get invited or we would like to dine out in
restaurants. When you do, it is then difficult to cut down half your
meal without the temptation to eat up your whole meal because you don’t
have a control of what and how much food you are getting.
But
there is still a way for you to enjoy your out-of-the-house meal with
your family and friends. When dining out, you may ask the waiter to
have your ordered meal halved. By doing this, you avoid the temptation
to eat a whole meal and get to have a guilt-free dessert time.
So
start this New Year with a good weight loss plan and have a healthy and
sexier body throughout the year. Start by fusing the abovementioned
weight loss tips and you’re sure to fire up this year with a healthy
body and positive perspective.
