With
the growing fad in weight loss
reduction, tons of means and ways to
speed up weight loss have been formulated and introduced. Aside from
exercise and strict dieting, dieters are clinging to other ways to
accelerate the burning of fats in the body. There are the supplements
that aids
in weight loss, the so called diet or slimming pills, that is gaining
popularity nowadays. But there is also a more deliberate and faster yet
more painful way to loss all the excess fats and that is through
surgery.
There are four types of weight reduction surgeries that are available
in
the market today. Many people do go under surgery despite the fact that
it is painful and carry a risk in their health and well being. Here are
the types of surgeries and what a patient will go through when they
undergo with it.
1. Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (VBG)
This surgery aims to reduce the space for food in the stomach by
fastening and stapling the stomach into two parts. When you eat, the
food is then delivered to the lower pocket of the stomach passing
through a small hole. A band is then placed in the hole to keep it from
stretching and inflating.
The risk for this type of surgery though is that the band that is
placed in the hole has a tendency to wear out. And when the staple line
breaks off, infection and even death can occur as the juices from the
stomach leaks out into the abdomen.
2. Laparoscopic Gastric Banding
(Lap-Band)
If you are 100 lbs overweight, the Lap-Band surgery is for you. In this
surgery, an inflatable banding is placed around the upper part of the
stomach. The banding that is wrapped around and is placed permanently
can vary in size depending on the amount of salt in the saline solution
of the band.
On the other hand, patients who undergo this surgery are likely to
suffer from nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, band slippage and pouch
enlargement.
3. Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RGB)
With this surgery, the stomach is stapled to make it smaller creating a
small pocket which is then attached to the middle section of the small
intestines. There are actually two reasons behind this mechanism. One
is to control and regulate the amount of food you eat and two, to
decrease the quantity of nutrients for the small intestines to be
absorbed.
The catch, however, is that with this kind of surgery, the food tends
to move quickly in the small intestines or what is medically termed as
the “dumping syndrome”. Other side effects include
nausea, weakness, sweating, faintness, diarrhea, infection, leaking,
pulmonary embolism, gall stones and shortage of nutritional supply.
4. Biliopancreatic Diversion (BPD)
When undergoing this surgery, a large part of the stomach is removed
creating a small pouch out of it. This is done in order to control the
amount of food entering it and also to regulate the production of acid
in the stomach. The pouch will then be attached to the end section of
the small intestines. Before the food penetrates the small intestines,
bile and pancreatic juices are blended with it through a common canal.
This surgery is quite risky, thus, it is rarely done by medical
professionals. The major risk for this surgery is essentially shortage
of nutritional supply in the body.
Weight loss surgeries are quite popular among desperate dieters for the
main reason that it is mainly the fastest way to lose weight. It saves
you the time and effort in going to the gym and undergoing strict
dieting. But as always, nothing good comes easy. Risks are part of the
package when you undergo these painful surgeries.
However, the power of science will always provide people with much more
choices than they can ever think of. There are still another
alternative to faster weight loss that are pain-free and less risky and
are also gaining much popularity among dieters all over the globe.
These are the weight loss supplements or more conveniently called diet
pills.
The most popular names in the diet pill market today are Alli,
Reductil, and Xenical. Like surgeries these pills also have risks but
they are much less risky and painful so it is very convenient for
people who dreads going under the knife to loose weight.
They may cause side negative effects though. And scientific evidence
suggests that they should only be used for 3months to one year. Also,
the effects are not long term so for those seeking long term weight
loss results, other alternatives or the essential pair up of diet and
exercise is best maintained succeeding the pill consumption.
However, there is still a chance at getting much better results from
weight loss supplements. A diet pill called Proactol™ which
is considered a natural fat binder, offers a much better chance at
successful weight loss without the pain and risks of less effective
pills and surgery.
Proactol™ are made
entirely of organic and has been proven
though clinical trials to help dieters lower their calories from fat
for up to 28%. It is also proven to repress one’s appetite
which is a big help in any dieter’s endeavor to loose weight.
Aside from its risk-free benefits, Proactol™ is also widely
supported by the media. Out of all the diet pills available in the
market today, it is the most strongly recommended by a number of
well-appraised and prominent newspapers and magazines such as the
Telegraph, the Daily Mail, and the New York Times. Recently, it has
been featured in YouAndYourWedding, a bridal magazine, wherein users of
Proactol™ are offered to an all-expenses-paid trip to
Champney Spa.
Losing weight is probably one of the major problems of many people
around the globe. And with the modern technological advancement, people
are given a much wider array of choices in getting the shape they want.
All you have to do is to examine each option carefully and make sure
that you are willing to take the risks involved and has a capacity for
the pain it endures. More importantly, choose the one that you feel is
best for your overall look, health, and well-being.
